JANUARY 2007 Happy New Year to you all. I trust Santa Claus delivered the videogaming goodness you were hoping for! We have been able to add another guitar and a copy of Guitar Hero II to the club. The beauty of Guitar Hero II is that it allows one of you to play lead guitar, whilst another person plays rhythm guitar at the same time. Our Japanese PS3 console arrived just in-time for Christmas. We have copies of Motorstorm, Ridge Racer 7, Resistance and Gran Turismo HD demo all playable on the HD projector. On the Xbox360 we have Gears of War which can also be played on the projector. We hope to get a second Xbox360 to soon, this will enable you to play Gears of War co-op with each player having his own screen. We will be announcing our opening dates for the next 3 months very soon. If you have an urgent enquiry please contact on the normal numbers. OCTOBER 2006 The fit-out process is nearly complete. Opening night will be Saturday 28th October, doors open at 7pm. Equipment will need to be fully set-up and tested before opening night. Posters and signs will need to go up. We put in our pre-order for a Japanese PS3, hopefully we can have one installed in the club before Christmas. SEPTEMBER 2006 During September the carpenters put down the wooden floor and installed the railings and kick-board. The room was give a fresh coat of paint. The final pieces of hardware were purchased ready for installation. AUGUST 2006 Construction work on club house started beginning of August. Target completion is the end of the month. In September the fit process will be started, with installation planned for early October. We are on track to open during October. JULY 2006 We had two Gran Turismo 4 racing pods at the recent Lounge on the Farm music festival in Canterbury, held over the weekend of 16 - 17th July. http://www.loungeonthefarm.co.uk/ We ran a fastest lap competition over the two days. First prize was a Sony PSP Gigapack, Second prize was Guitar Hero videogame, Third prize was £20 Blockbuster video rental vouchers. We used the El Capitan track for the competition and everyone raced the same Subaru Impreza rally car. Over the two days it was a hard fought contest with over forty different entrance. During the final two hours of the competition the top three placed drivers played continuously trying to record the fast lap time. It was an enjoyable, hard fought contest. In Third place was Scott with a time of 1:46.372, in Second was Greg with a time of 1:44:110, First place went to Dustin with a time of 1:43:796 an expert GT4 player. |
